The short version: Simply Clean is a platform that connects homeowners and businesses with independent cleaning professionals. We collect only the information needed to facilitate those connections and deliver our platform services. We do not sell your personal information to anyone. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

1. Who We Are and How Our Platform Works

Simply Clean LLC (“Simply Clean,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates an online marketplace platform that connects homeowners, renters, and businesses (“Clients”) with independent cleaning professionals (“Cleaning Professionals”) in the Seattle, Washington area and surrounding communities.

Platform model — important to understand: Simply Clean is a technology platform and marketplace intermediary. Independent Cleaning Professionals who use our platform are self-employed independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of Simply Clean LLC. Simply Clean does not employ Cleaning Professionals and does not direct or control the manner in which they perform their services. The relationship between a Client and a Cleaning Professional is a direct service engagement between two independent parties. In addition to our cleaning marketplace, Simply Clean LLC directly provides Home Watch and Care services — non-professional, visual walk-through services for residential properties. These services involve in-home access, property documentation, and handling of property access credentials. Additional privacy practices specific to these services are described in Section 2.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our platform, including:

  • Clients — Homeowners, renters, property managers, and businesses who use our platform to find and book independent Cleaning Professionals.
  • Cleaning Professionals — Self-employed independent contractors who register on our platform to offer their cleaning services to Clients.
  • Website Visitors — Anyone who visits seattlesimplyclean.com or our related subdomains, whether or not they create an account.
  • Gift Card Recipients — Individuals who receive a Simply Clean gift card and use it to book services through our platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect different types of information depending on how you use our platform. Information is collected in two ways: directly from you, and automatically through your use of our website.

Photography and Video Collected During Cleaning Visits

Cleaning professionals who work with Simply Clean may photograph and/or record video of your property’s interior and exterior at the start and end of each cleaning visit. This documentation is collected for the following purposes only:

  • Recording the condition of your home before cleaning begins, to serve as a baseline for any damage or dispute claim.
  • Verifying completion of the booked service.
  • Supporting internal quality review.

Cleaning visit documentation will never be: published publicly, shared on social media, used in marketing or advertising materials, or shared with any third party other than the assigned cleaning professional or as required by law, without your explicit written consent.

Cleaning visit photos and recordings are retained for 90 days following the visit date and then permanently deleted, unless a claim or dispute is active, in which case they are retained until the matter is resolved.

By booking a cleaning service through Simply Clean, you consent to in-home photography and video recording for the documentation purposes described above. If you have concerns about documentation, please contact us before your appointment.

Additional Information Collected for Home Watch and Care Services

If you book any Home Watch and Care service (Safety Check, Storm and Leak Check, Forget Something?, Mailbox Check, or Water Plants), we collect additional categories of information specific to those services:

Property Access Credentials Sensitive

Door codes, smart lock access codes, alarm system codes, garage codes, key lockbox combinations, or other access information you provide to enable entry to your property. This information is treated as sensitive data, stored securely, accessible only to authorized Simply Clean personnel, and deleted within 30 days of your final service visit unless you have an ongoing service arrangement.

Property Photographs and Video Recordings (Home Watch) Sensitive

Interior and exterior photographs and/or video recordings of your property taken during each Home Watch and Care visit for service documentation and mutual protection. By booking these services, you expressly consent to this recording. Recordings are retained for 90 days following the visit date and are not shared with any third party except as required by law.

Visit Scheduling Data Sensitive

The scheduled dates and times of Home Watch and Care visits. Because this information indicates when your property may be unoccupied, it is treated as sensitive. We do not share visit schedules with any third party other than the professional assigned to your visit.

Mail and Item Handling Instructions Standard

For Mailbox Check and Forget Something? services: instructions regarding where to place mail or located items inside your home, and any mailing or document copying requests. For video-call-guided services, a log of the call date and general purpose may be retained.

Plant Care Instructions Standard

For Water Plants services: the number of plants, their locations, and any specific watering instructions you provide. This information is used solely to perform the service as requested.

Information Collected Automatically (All Users)

  • IP address and approximate location: Used to confirm our platform serves your area. We do not collect precise GPS location.

Information from Third Parties

  • Review platforms: Google, Yelp, Facebook, and Angi may share aggregate data about how users interact with our platform profile.
  • Analytics providers: Services like Google Analytics provide aggregated data about site traffic and visitor behavior.
  • Referral sources: If you arrived via a referral partner, they may share your name and contact information to facilitate your first booking.

3. How We Use Your Information

For Clients

  • To match you with available Cleaning Professionals — presenting suitable independent professionals based on your location, requested service, and scheduling preferences.
  • To facilitate bookings — coordinating service scheduling between you and the Cleaning Professional you select.
  • To process payments — securely handling platform transactions and issuing receipts.
  • To communicate with you — booking confirmations, service reminders, and responses to your inquiries.
  • To send promotional communications — special offers and platform updates, only if you have opted in. You may opt out at any time (see Section 8).
  • To process gift card transactions — fulfilling purchases and delivering gift cards to recipients.
  • To resolve disputes — investigating and mediating issues that arise between Clients and Cleaning Professionals on our platform.

For Cleaning Professionals

  • To operate and maintain your platform profile — making your services discoverable to Clients in your area.
  • To facilitate connections with Clients — sharing relevant profile information with Clients who are seeking cleaning services.
  • To process platform payments — facilitating payment from Clients to you for services rendered.
  • To review Washington State business licensing and completed job performance — verifying your business registration and reviewing service feedback to maintain platform quality and trust.
  • To communicate with you — booking notifications, platform updates, and support communications.
  • To fulfill tax reporting obligations — issuing 1099 forms and maintaining records required for IRS compliance where applicable to independent contractors.

For All Users

  • To improve our platform — analyzing usage patterns to enhance features, content, and user experience.
  • To maintain platform safety and integrity — detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.
  • To comply with legal obligations — maintaining records required by law and responding to lawful requests.

We will not use your personal information for purposes materially different from those described here without providing prior notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade it to third parties for their marketing. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Between Platform Users

To facilitate service bookings, we share certain information between Clients and Cleaning Professionals:

  • When a Client books a service, we share relevant booking details (service address, scheduled time, service requirements) with the selected Cleaning Professional.
  • A Cleaning Professional’s profile information (name, profile photo, ratings, service area, experience) is visible to Clients browsing the platform.
  • After a completed service, Clients and Cleaning Professionals may exchange ratings and reviews that become part of their respective platform profiles.

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate our platform. These providers are contractually required to use your information only as directed by us and not for their own independent purposes. These include:

  • Platform and scheduling software — to manage bookings, profiles, and service history.
  • Payment processors — to handle transactions securely under PCI-DSS standards.
  • Business license verification — to confirm Washington State business registration for Cleaning Professionals during platform onboarding.
  • Email and SMS platforms — to send booking notifications, reminders, and platform communications.
  • Website analytics — to understand how users interact with our site (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Review platforms — Google, Yelp, Facebook, Angi — where we display and respond to platform reviews.
  • Accounting and tax software — for financial record-keeping and 1099 processing.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or abuse on our platform.

Business Transfers

If Simply Clean is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected users if such a transfer occurs, and data will remain subject to this Privacy Policy.

With Your Consent

We may share your information with other parties when you have given us explicit consent to do so.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience and help us understand how users engage with our platform. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law:

Client Records

  • Booking and transaction records — minimum 3 years for accounting and tax compliance under Washington State law.
  • Payment records — 7 years in accordance with IRS requirements.
  • Marketing preferences and email list data — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Cleaning visit photographs and video recordings — retained for 90 days following each visit date, then permanently deleted unless a claim or dispute is active.
  • Property access credentials (Home Watch services) — deleted within 30 days of the final scheduled visit, or immediately upon written request.
  • Property photos and video recordings (Home Watch services) — retained for 90 days following each visit date, then permanently deleted.
  • Visit scheduling data (Home Watch services) — retained as part of booking records for 3 years for dispute resolution and compliance, consistent with other booking records.

Cleaning Professional Records

  • Platform profile and activity data — retained for the duration of your active platform registration and for 3 years thereafter for dispute resolution and compliance purposes.
  • Payment and tax records (1099 data) — 7 years in accordance with IRS requirements for records related to independent contractor payments.
  • Business license and verification records — retained for the duration of active platform registration and 3 years thereafter.
  • Platform registration applications — retained for 1 year if not accepted onto the platform.

General

  • Website analytics data — retained in aggregated, anonymized form.

When we no longer need your personal information and have no legal obligation to retain it, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

7. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold on our platform:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted through our website and platform.
  • Payment card data processed exclusively through PCI-DSS compliant payment processors — we do not store raw card numbers on our servers.
  • Access to personal data limited to authorized Simply Clean personnel and platform administrators who require it to operate the platform.
  • Regular review of our data collection, storage, and processing practices.
  • Cleaning visit photographs and video recordings are stored securely, accessible only to authorized Simply Clean personnel and the relevant cleaning professional in connection with a damage or dispute claim. These recordings are never made publicly accessible.
  • Property access credentials (door codes, alarm codes, and similar information collected for Home Watch and Care services) are stored with heightened access controls, accessible only to the professional assigned to your visit and authorized Simply Clean administrators. Credentials are deleted within 30 days of your final scheduled visit unless an ongoing service arrangement is in place.

No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your interaction with our platform is no longer secure, please contact us immediately at hello@seattlesimplyclean.com.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Regardless of where you live, all platform users have the following rights with respect to their personal information:

  • Right to Know — Request a summary of what personal information we hold about you and how we use it on our platform.
  • Right to Correct — Ask us to correct inaccurate information. Many details can be updated directly in your platform account or profile.
  • Right to Delete — Request deletion of your personal information. Note: we may retain certain data required by law or for legitimate platform safety purposes.
  • Right to Portability — Request a copy of your personal information in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Opt Out of Marketing — Unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly.
  • Do Not Sell — We do not sell your personal information. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and provide clear opt-out mechanisms.
  • Photo and Video Documentation: You may request that Simply Clean delete photographs or video recordings taken during a specific cleaning visit by contacting us at hello@seattlesimplyclean.com. Deletion requests will be honored unless a claim or legal matter is active that requires the documentation to be retained.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

9. Washington State Privacy Rights

Washington State Notice: Simply Clean operates under Washington State law. Washington residents have rights under the Washington My Health MY Data Act (effective 2023), the Washington Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86), and other applicable state statutes. This section describes those specific rights.

Washington My Health MY Data Act

To the extent we collect health-related information, we comply with the Washington My Health MY Data Act:

  • We will not sell health data without explicit consent.
  • We will not use health data for targeted advertising without explicit consent.
  • You may request deletion of any health-related data we hold at any time.

Washington Consumer Protection Act

Our privacy practices comply with Washington’s Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86), which prohibits unfair or deceptive practices in commerce. We are committed to transparent, accurate communication about how personal data is used on our platform.

Independent Contractor Classification — Washington Law Note

Cleaning Professionals on our platform are classified as independent contractors under Washington State law. Simply Clean does not exercise control over the means or manner in which Cleaning Professionals perform their services. This classification is consistent with RCW 51.08.195 (Washington Industrial Insurance Act definitions) and applicable Washington Department of Labor & Industries guidance. Personal information collected from Cleaning Professionals is processed in accordance with their independent contractor status.

We will respond to verified requests within 45 days. If additional time is needed, we will notify you within that period.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our platform and services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users must be 18 years of age or older to register as a Cleaning Professional on our platform. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

11. Third-Party Links

Our platform and website contain links to third-party sites and services, including review platforms (Google, Yelp, Facebook, Angi), our online booking tool (quote.seattlesimplyclean.com), and our blog. These third-party sites operate under their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit through a link on our platform. The inclusion of a link does not constitute an endorsement of that site’s privacy practices.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, applicable law, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Notify registered users by email if the changes are material.
